A day of memorial, sun and fighting relatives

THIS IS THE BLOG POST THAT’S BEEN COMING FOR ABOUT TWO AND HALF WEEKS.

(As you can tell by the title…)

I was going to write about Memorial Day/my dad’s 60th birthday back home in Jersey.

I was going to get into a huge spiel about the DRAMA that going back home/visiting my extended family brings and how cousins’ boyfriends get smacked by uncles and uncles get punched in the face and uncles fight nephews, while brandishing switchblades and…

BOY, do these stories involve a LOT of uncles. (For the record, I have SEVEN uncles in total.)

BUT… I can’t tell these stories.

The news is sad and sickening and, in light of all the horror that has been plaguing my feed on Facebook these days, I just CANNOT do it.

I can’t add another DARK post to the feed… so I won’t.

Instead, I’m going to bring up something that’s “good”…  something that’s been a bright spot for me these past “coupla” weeks…

YUP. So, this is happening…

Going to get into the details in the weeks to come, but, OF COURSE, it’s a ROMANTIC MYSTERY.

Like my other novels, I’m bringing the juice, the smexiness, the laughs and the thrills.

Hoping you guys love this story as much as I am right now…

Blurb and details to come in the next few days for those in the dark.

For now, GOOD NIGHT from NY!

(Up early in the morning so my little vacation to the city won’t turn into a “stay-cation”…)

I know what you mean about the recent tragedies causing us to change our feelings and decisions about what’s important. I’ve been staying off FB for the most part because among the posts of support are those that applaud the carnage. I don’t know what’s wrong with the human race but too many people have embraced evil. I’m glad you’re trying to maintain your happiness. Andrea

    1. It’s like an epidemic! Just when you think evil in the world is getting better, something else happens to give it new life.
I’m glad you commented, Andrea! Lets me know that I’m not alone and that I can focus on the good without letting the bad suck me back in.
Praying and crossing my fingers that we can get and stay in that happy place! 🙂

    Hi Natalie!!!!

GAH! A new book! I’m so excited I almost peed myself! I can’t wait!! I’m sorry you had such a crappy visit, you alluded to it being bad, but that sounds damn depressing and scary. On a brighter note… have a great weekend with you bf in NY!! I am in serious need of a vacation. LOL! Talk soon, I need to e mail you the latest drivel from this end of the deep south.

    1. Loriiii! LOL. Yes, the trip back home is always crazyyyy. And depressing. And jarring. And…UGH.
There’s a reason my immediate family only goes back to visit every couple of years – (and I’m using the word “couple” very liberally!)
The weekend is going well! We went to Yankee Stadium and watched the New York City Football Club play. I cheered. I sweat. I got half-drunk in the stands. LOL. I can’t WAIT for another e-mail. Your stories are better than fiction! Don’t forget to send me one! 😉
